As the weather gets warmer here in the Northern Hemisphere and on the heels of Earth Day, you may be itching to move your workout outside and take in all that our miraculous Mother Nature has to offer!
I don’t know about you, but exercising outside just makes me happier. Spending time in nature and truly connecting with the earth helps me feel grounded and that coupled with the beautiful sunshine, just elevates my mood and my vibration.
I also find that because I’m stimulating all five of my senses when I’m outside, it’s somehow impacts my brain in a positive way which of course also elevates my mood, and knocks out a workout at the same time, which makes me feel better about myself.
All the beautiful surroundings, tall beautiful trees, chirping birds, rushing rivers, other animals like squirrels and rabbits jumping about, green grass, the wind in my hair, it all takes my mind off the work of working out, so I feel like I can or want to be out there longer than when I do my indoor workouts.
And then of course there’s that dose of Vitamin D that we get from the sunshine. Ahhhhhh…it feels so good! Of course keep in mind that too much sun is not always a good thing so use a mineral based sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun or plan to be out there for any period of time.
Whether it’s a run in the woods, a long bike ride, a hike or a walk in the park with your best friend, get yourself outside and watch your mood improve!
Plus, exercising outside is free and everyone has access to it!
The journey to a healthier, happier you is so worth it. I know because I lived it.
I stopped chasing skinny and started focusing on my health—and that single shift changed everything. I lost 140 pounds, but more importantly, I found clarity, energy, and a life that finally feels like mine. I tell the whole story in my book. Click HERE to learn more and see what’s possible.
